Metos UK has announced that DropSight, a simple-to-use spray coverage tool, will be launched at Lamma this week – showcased alongside other sensors and trackers to help users complete spray records.
DropSight works with a mobile phone to give instant information on the spray deposition efficiency, helping to improve the efficacy of crop protection products and reduce the risk of drift, run-off and crop damage.
Crops are sprayed with a solution visible under ultra-violet light, then leaves are photographed using a mobile phone. The DropSight software then recognises and quantifies the deposition of the solution on each leaf to measure its efficacy.
By checking deposition during sprayer set-up, it’s said that operators can optimise nozzle selection and calibration, as well as water volume, boom height and sprayer speed.
A product specialist will be on hand at Lamma to demonstrate the tool.
