Landmark Systems Limited has announced the acquisition of Pear Agri Limited, in a move said to provide future development support and security for existing Pear Agri customers.
The purchase will allow for continued development of the latest Pear Agri web-based agronomy module, built in conjunction with leading agronomists, which will then link to Landmark’s Geofolia crop recording program. Similarly, those using Pear Agri’s PC based software will be able to link to Geofolia.
Pear Agri’s Fieldman Farmer crop recording package will continue to be supported until August 2022 and users are been invited to transfer to Geofolia on a like for like basis and free of charge, with the additional benefits of a mobile application, mapping software and a hosted option. Landmark Systems states that 25% of Fieldman Farmer users have transferred within a few weeks of announcing the offer.
Charlie Farrington, a director of Pear Agri has joined the Landmark Team and brings a wealth of experience with him. He commented: “It’s exciting to see a future roadmap for Pear Agri, we have a really good product and with some backing from Landmark and the Isagri Group we can provide innovative, easy to use products for our existing and potential customers. I look forward to the certainty of providing software support to our existing users and project managing the ongoing development of the agronomy software, to provide farmers and agronomists with simple to use software that drives their businesses forward”.
Mathieu Savalle, Managing Director of Landmark Systems confirmed: “We are delighted to welcome Pear Agri and Charlie Farrington to Landmark. We are confident that existing Pear Agri and Geofolia customers alike will quickly feel the benefits of joining forces as we accelerate the development of our crop management software range; with the groundbreaking addition of an agronomist’s module”.
