The Royal Bath & West Society has today announced the cancellation of Grassland UK, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The Society said that it understood that the decision was disappointing for everyone involved, however following the recent government announcement, it was clear that large events will be unable to safely take place until later on in the Summer.
Alan Lyons, head of shows at the Royal Bath & West Society said: “We are hugely disappointed to be taking this decision today, particularly as Grassland UK is a triennial event, which won’t take place on the Showground again until 2024.”
Traders and sponsors will be contacted with details of what to do next, as will all ticket holders. The Society has asked for patience due to reduced staffing levels.
The Royal Bath & West Society added that the government announcement has instilled some confidence that the rest of the events this year will be able to take place:
- The Equine Showing Show (behind closed doors), 21-22 May 2021
- The Bath & West Country Festival, 27-29 August 2021
- The Dairy Show, 6 October 2021
