Mark Southwell has joined Yara UK as business development manager, tasked with supporting customers and expanding awareness of the company’s product range.
He comes to the role with a background that includes logistics in agriculture, almost a decade of specialising in liquid fertilisers and experience in vegetable, potato and cereal crops.
Mark comes from a farming background and states that his experience encompasses every aspect of a customer’s journey.
“Knowing what matters to farmers on a day-to-day basis is integral to my role and being able to identify ways in which Yara can help them,” he says.
“With ever-increasing pressures on farming and farmers, there is a real and growing need to build relationships that support them in their businesses and provide the right information and the right services at the right time. That’s what I am aiming to do in this new role; help farmers to thrive, and build a greater awareness of how Yara can help them to do that.
“I’m very much looking forward to Cereals this year and being available to meet farmers at the event to help them gain a better understanding of what Yara is doing to build their prospects. There are exciting times ahead for Yara and I’m really energized to develop this new role and be a part of that future.”
