Instigated at the start of the year, Merlo UK is supporting women in agriculture and construction with a series of monthly profiles.
Spearheaded by Merlo’s Emily Traverse, on the third Friday of each month, the company will publish an article focused on a woman working in either agriculture or construction.
Defra estimates that women make up just 28% of the British agricultural workforce, while the Women in Construction Summit found that only 11% of the 2.1 million people employed in construction are women.
The campaign will feature twelve women who will discuss their roles within the respective industry, the history of their job and any challenges they have had to overcome.
Ms Traverse concluded by saying: “I am so proud of this campaign and would like to thank all the women who have agreed to take part. We stand together and hope to encourage the new generation of women engineers, farmers, contractors and sales managers”.
The profiles are published on the company’s social media outlets, including Facebook and Instagram.
