The Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA) has released tractor registration figures for April, showing that the number of units was 9.5% down when compared to the same month last year.
1,158 machines were registered in April and while the year-on-year reduction is high, the AEA states that this figure is only 3% below the seasonal average for the last five years.
This also rings true for the yearly total to date. While the 4,049 units registered in 2024 is 12.6% down year-on-year but only 4% down on the seasonal average.
An interesting point made by the AEA is that the total for the last 12 months is 11,231, which is a three-year low but not unusual by historic standards, according to the organisation.
