The Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA) has announced that 1,939 tractors were registered in March – a 12.8% drop when compared to the same month last year.
However, the AEA states that the market is not as bad as these figures may suggest. The number of machines registered in March was 4% above the five-year average for this time of year. Similarly, while the 2024 total of 2,891 tractors is 13.8% lower than the 2023 total for the same period, it is just 5% below the recent average.
The AEA concludes that while demand is clearly not as strong as it has been in previous years, there are still plenty of agricultural businesses looking to invest in tractors.
