The Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA) has announced that the slow start for tractor registrations continued in February, with a monthly total of 477 machines – 2.1% lower than in the same month in 2023.
While the AEA notes that the actual total was just 10 machines fewer than the previous year, it is 16% lower than the five-year average for this time of year. This is a similar decline to what was seen in January.
A total of 952 units for the year so far is the lowest two-month opening since 2001, according to the AEA, however, the organisation notes that these two months are typically quieter so we will get a better idea of the market when numbers for March – typically a peak of the year – come in.
