BKT has announced an important order to supply 42 Earthmax SR 468 tyres, in the 40.00 R57 size, to South Eastern Coalfields Ltd, a mining company owned by the Indian Government’s Ministry of Coal.
The first batch of six tyres has already been shipped, while a further two batches are expected to reach the customer within a week.
The company states that this is an important milestone, which consolidates BKT’s position in the mining sector. The Earthmax SR 468 in a 57-inch diameter, is the largest tyre BKT has ever produced and was produced at its plant in Bhuj, India, and is designed to equip rigid dump trucks operating in the most hostile conditions.
It’s reported to be particularly resistant to attacks and punctures, thanks to the All Steel structure and is there suitable for rough and muddy terrain. There’s also a special tread design and compound, designed to limit heat generation. The E-4 tread depth provides extreme resistance in challenging conditions.
