Kubota Holdings Europe BV, based at Nieuw-Vennep, Netherlands, has announced the 100% acquisition of Spanish sprayer manufacturer Pulverizadores Fede, which develops, builds and distributes a range of air blast sprayers and mist blowers for speciality applications such as vineyards, orchards, citrus fruits and vegetables.
By bringing the manufacturer on board as a wholly-owned subsidiary and keeping its brand identity, the Kubota Group hopes to accelerate the expansion of its business in the specialist crop markets, as well as strengthen the compatibility between tractors and equipment and reduce the environmental impact of fruit production.
Pulverizadores Fede, based in Valencia, Spain, has more than 50 years of experience in high-end sprayer technology. This includes the Smartomizer H3O, a smart-connected air blast sprayer that is able to control spray volumes and airflow in real-time through the use of sensors that measure the height of the trees.
With intelligent calibration, this innovation is said to potentially reduce fuel consumption by up to five litres per hectare and reduce drift by up to 45%.
