Stihl has opened its new, purpose-built head office and distribution centre, Contra House.
Dr Nikolas Stihl, chairman of the supervisory board of Stihl Group, presided over the opening ceremony. Contra House is named after the Stihl Contra chainsaw, invented by the company’s founder Andreas Stihl.
The 11,500m2 facility will be home to more than 100 members of staff, with dealer training facilities, collaborative workspaces, a studio, an on-site restaurant and a fully-fitted technical workshop.
At its heart is a 9,000m2 distribution centre with the latest picking and storage systems.
Kay Green, managing director, said: “The unveiling of Contra House symbolises a significant step forward in our commitment to product innovation and providing exceptional service to our customers and dealer network. We are thrilled to unveil the new facility, which not only embodies our rich heritage but also stands as a testament to our vision for the future.”
