On the 6th of November at Newmarket Racecourse, farmers, researchers and industry stakeholders will come together for Agri-TechE’s REAP Conference.
The event will aim to find answers to questions around the bespoke management of individual crops and livestock, versus the broader, more general oversight provided by other technologies.
Dr Elliot Grant, former CEO of Mineral, will address the potential benefits of bespoke management in his keynote address. The event will also see leaders from John Deere, Bayer and Unilever look at how supply chains can collaborate.
Phil Taylor, who will represent Bayer, says: “As an industry, we have spent the last five years recognising that we need to work together. The next ten years will be about how to make the whole system sustainable and self-supporting. To achieve this, we need to find new ways of partnering.
“Across the world, there are these global innovation hotspots. The Agri-TechE ecosystem is clearly one of them, where we see opportunities for Bayer to contribute and become part of the ecosystem.”
The conference will close with regular fixtures of the event. The Emerging Agri-Tech panel will see scientists explain the inspiration for various projects, chaired by farmer Tom Pearson.
This will be followed by the Start-Up Showcase, revealing the top eight picks for the future of farming. The line-up for this will be revealed on the day.
