On the 23rd and 24th of November, CropTec will return to the East of England Showground in Peterborough. Now in its tenth year, the event will offer industry-leading exhibitors of the latest machinery and technology, as well as updates on the arable sector.
“CropTec’s seminar programme is renowned for bringing together the industry’s top experts, policymakers and most successful farmers and this year is no exception,” said event manager Gareth Jones. “In our 10th year, we were particularly keen to deliver a schedule providing the chance for farmers to invest in their knowledge and give practical insight into controlling costs and cultivating business resilience.”
Coping with change will be the focus of the first seminar session, with speakers tackling some of the pressing questions around cost management. Speakers will include Harry Henderson of the AHDB, Terravost agribusiness advisor Carl Atkins and Cambridgeshire farmer Ed Reynolds.
Further sessions will focus on how new technology and data can control fertiliser costs, as well as how to monetise environmental targets on farm. Experts including George Cook from Andersons, Michael Kavanagh from Green Farm Collective and Dr Liz Reddy of ADAS will discuss opportunities for financial gain.
Specialist hubs will explore subjects including water, integrated pest management, natural capital and digital farming, each with its own speaker schedule. In the Training Zone, visitors can get practical information and advice. Teresa Meadows, BASIS head of environment and public affairs will discuss the importance of continuous training for farmers, and introduce BASIS’ Principles of Sustainable Land Management course.
The Sprayer Demonstration area will return as well, providing the chance for operators to get into the cab and speak with the manufacturers.
