A dedicated space for contractors to relax and unwind is a new addition to January’s Lamma show. Hosted by the National Association of Agricultural Contractors (NAAC), the lounge will provide speciality clinics as well as opportunities to meet new suppliers.
Experts will be on hand during the two-day event to offer advice, assistance and resources helping contractors to stay safe and legal. Also available will be guidance on transportation, information on the Assurance Standards for Contractors and financial experts will be there to create a ‘contractor calculations tool’ for which there will be a costings demonstration.
NAAC CEO, Jill Hewitt, reinforced the benefits of the lounge as an opportunity to recognise contractors needs: “Contractors are a vital to UK agriculture, providing high capital cost, innovative machinery, and skilled labour to help farmers reach optimum productivity and profitability. The NAAC is delighted to work with Lamma and Fendt to recognise their important industry contribution and provide the first business and social space for contractors at Lamma.”
Ed Dennett, advertising and sales promotion at AGCO Limited agreed: “Contractors are an essential part of agriculture in the UK & Ireland, from providing specialist services right through to whole stubble to stubble contracting operations. The Fendt brand has long been a favourite among contractors, offering affordable solutions with fixed costs. With this in mind, we see the tie-up with Fendt, the NAAC and the Contractors lounge at Lamma giving a clear synergy between our organisations, helping to lift the profile of everyone involved.
“As the old expression goes ‘it is good to talk’. The Contractors Lounge offers contractors the opportunity to network and relax with others that understand the challenges they face. Through conversations and the specialist clinics on offer, visitors will be able to share thoughts, ideas and knowledge with each other, helping to raise the bar even higher in the contracting sector.”
