Claydon Drills, European market leader in direct strip seeding crop establishment technology, has further expanded its UK dealer distribution network and coverage in The Midlands by appointing Sharmans Agricultural Limited.
A family-run agricultural machinery dealership which has expanded progressively since coming under the guidance of the Barclay family in 1981, Sharmans is now one of the UK’s leading dealers. Holding several key franchises, Sharmans continues to invest in the future and is highly respected by its customers.
The company’s head office at Gonerby Moor near Grantham in Lincolnshire is complemented by four other branches, at Easton on the Hill near Stamford in Lincolnshire, Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, Lowdham in Nottinghamshire and Pytchley in Northamptonshire. All except Pytchley will sell and service the full range of Claydon Opti-Till® products, which form part of a holistic approach to crop establishment that delivers consistently high quality, high yielding crops at much lower cost than conventional plough-based or min-till systems.
“Sharmans only takes on new product lines after considerable consideration, investigation and preparation, but having done so commits fully to developing their potential,” Duncan Hood, group sales manager states. “We are therefore delighted to be working closely with Claydon Drills, another family-run, customer-focused company with an excellent reputation.”
“Claydon Opti-Till® products offer something different and fit in well with our existing portfolio, enabling us to offer customers an even greater choice to match their individual requirements. This is critical, because every farmer has their own ideas and consequently there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
“Farmers are under pressure to operate even more efficiently and reduce their costs to help offset continual increases in input prices and challenging commodity markets. Critically, they must do so without compromising yields or gross outputs and the Opti-Till® range will help them to do that.”
