With just a month to go until Cereals, we attended the Crop Plot preview day and, alongside our sister publication Agronomist & Arable Farmer, interviewed the companies exhibiting their new varieties.
The Corteva Agriscience crop plots are growing well and, according to UK & Ireland marketing manager Alex Nichols, provide a strong visual demonstration of the company’s crop protection and seed portfolio.
Available in limited quantities in 2021, this season will be the first chance for many farmers to put the fungicide Univoq to the test, with the Cereals crop plot showing the lasting protection of a T2 fungicide spray.
Corteva will also showcase its PT303 Protector Sclerotinia hybrid oilseed rape, which provides top yields and tolerance to turnip yellows virus (TuYV).
“PT303 also combines proven TuYV resistance and multigenic phoma resistance for a best-in-class overall disease resistance rating,” said Mr Nichols.
Cereals will also see the launch of the Utrisha N biostimulant, which reportedly enables plants to fix nitrogen from the air. Another key feature on the stand will Instinct, which has the potential to reduce nitrogen losses from combinable crops.
“We are really looking forward to being back at Cereals and putting the spotlight on these breakthrough technical innovations,” he concluded.
The Cereals Event will be held near Duxford, Cambridgeshire on 8-9 June 2022. For more information or to purchase tickets visit the relaunched website at www.cerealsevent.co.uk.
