With maize harvest just around the corner, Berry Global is promoting its agricultural stretch wrap and clamp sheets to help growers optimise protection.
“Maize has grown well this year through mainland Europe and the United Kingdom, due to the mix of sun and rain, so farmers are expecting a bumper harvest,” said Lloyd Dawson, sales director of Berry Global. “However, this can be compromised if baled or clamped maize silage is not well protected.”
The company offers wide roll baler film for baled maize, popular across Central Europe, South Africa and South America. However, for clamped maize, the company’s Clingseal vacuum sheets can reduce spoilage, sitting directly beneath the heavier top sheet and forming to the contours of the clamp.
“We’ve found from talking to farmers that, by better protecting silage that would have likely been lost, they’ve more than covered the cost of Clingseal,” said Lloyd.
For a final top sheet, the Visqueen Agri-S reportedly offers high impact and puncture resistance, recognising that surfaces may be walked on. It also includes UV inhibitors to protect from sunlight and is folded for easier application.
