Encouraging visitors to get more from their grass at the UK Diary Day, Barenburg has brought in two new partners.
Grassland weed experts from Corteva Agriscience and nutritional analysts from Lancrop Laboratories, part of Yara UK, will join the Barenbrug UK team to answer a range of queries and provide advice on dealing with problem pastures.
“Good grass makes for sustainable, profitable and productive dairying,” said Barenbrug’s agriculture manager, David Linton. “And good grassland benefits soil health, carbon capture and biodiversity.
“But to get the most from our UK grassland, we all need to ‘think crop’ in terms of how we manage it. By hosting the first-ever Grass Clinic at UK Dairy Day, with help from our friends at Corteva and Lancrop, we’re trying to demystify grassland agronomy and increase productivity.
“If you know what steps to take, there’s no reason why underperforming grassland can’t quickly become good grassland,” he said.
The UK Diary Day will be held at the International Centre in Telford, Shropshire on the 14th of September. There’s no need to book for the clinic, with experts available all day.
