Germinal Seeds (formerly British Seed Houses) has extended its range of Aber High Sugar Grass seeds mixtures for the 2014 season with the addition of Aber HSG 6 Tetraploid.
This new cutting and grazing option is comprised exclusively of late heading tetraploid high sugar perennial ryegrasses and provides access to some of the very latest Aber HSG varieties to emerge from the award-winning IBERS Aberystwyth University forage grass breeding programme.
Component varieties are all highly ranked on the independent NIAB/TAG Recommended Lists. They have been selected with very compatible heading dates in the first week of June (central Britain) therefore providing a high yield and D-value combination for a relatively late first cut and/or rotational grazing system. The AberDairy white clover blend is included as a standard ingredient in this mixture and Puna II perennial chicory can also be added as an option.
Aber HSG 6 Tetraploid features in Germinal Seeds’ 2014 Premium Forage Seeds catalogue as the latest in a range of eight mixtures comprising exclusively of Aber HSG perennial or hybrid ryegrass varieties. The new catalogue also includes details on perennial chicory, white clover blends, lucerne, forage brassicas and a new range of grass mixtures formulated for anaerobic digestion.
