Yokohama Off-Highway Tires (YOHT) has announced a new product from flagship brand Alliance. The VF750/75 R46 tyre sits at the top of its Agriflex+ 372 radial range for tractors and harvesters.
Following trials by SEGES Innovation in 2021, Alliance states that the low inflation of Agriflex+ 372 and Agriflex+ 389 tyres reduced the track depth by half when applying slurry. At the same time, wheel slip was shown to be 4.4% less than a conventional tyre.
Measurements with a penetrometer showed lower soil compaction in the VF plots, and the following maize yield increased by around 12.9 harvest units per hectare.
Depending on the working width of the liquid manure spreader, these results can reportedly translate to yield increases of between 1.5% and 2.2% per hectare, with profit gains calculated up to 80 euros per hectare.
