At SIMA, BKT launched its AgriMaxFactor 70-series tyre, kicking off a new range of products tailored to electric vehicles.
The E-Ready range is differentiated from the portfolio with a logo stitched into the tyre. The company explained that this new range was necessary to handle the various differences between diesel-powered machines and electric units.
Electric vehicles can weigh up to 30% more due to the increased weight of batteries and also have different power characteristics, with maximum power and torque available immediately which can make load shifts and potential wear more intense.
As electric vehicles have to be designed with battery charge in mind, it’s also important that the tyre does not negatively impact the energy autonomy of the machine.
In light of this, BKT will optimise the tread pattern and structure of its E-Ready range, to minimise tyre wear and reduce power consumption. Tread design will also impact noise levels from the tyre, something that is more noticeable due to the minimal noise produced by electric motors.
