Case IH has announced that the Puma 240, which has a rated power of 240hp, boosting to 270hp, will now be available with the PowerDrive powershift transmission.
It’s offered as an alternative to the continuously variable CVXDrive, and is said to meet the demands, and budgets, of customers. The transmission is available on machines with mechanical or electronic remote valves, and comes with either 18 or 19 forward speeds, depending on if the 50kph top speed is optioned.
Other updates to the Puma range include 2.05m tyres for the 185 and 200, when specified with CVXDrive. On PowerDrive models from 185 to 240, a new class 4.5 front axle will be available, which is said to boost the load capacity by around 13%.
The new axle brings the maximum gross weight up to 14,000kg, closing the gap between the powershift and CVXDrive models.
As with other machines in the Case IH portfolio, new Puma models are also compatible with FieldOps.
