The 60hp YT359 from Yanmar comes with an in-house developed engine and transmission. The i-HMT gearbox combines a hydrostatic and mechanical system, which the company states provides a high power transfer ratio and increased efficiency.
It shifts automatically, with independent control of the forward speed and engine throttle to maximise power output.
By maintaining power transfer, the YT359 can reportedly handle steep slopes without any loss in speed, as the mechanical transmission compensates when the hydrostat begins to overload.
For convenience, it is also possible to save two different working modes, with independent forward and engine speeds, to suit different operations, or differentiate between work and transport modes.
For rigidity, the engine and transmission are mounted independently, with the engine separated from the vibration-suppressing tractor frame with rubber blocks to maintain operator comfort.
At the front, the narrow design of the nose and the fully hydraulic power steering provides a steering angle of 62deg on the inner wheel making the compact tractor very manoeuvrable.
It’s completed with the choice of a cabin or platform design, with a ROPS frame. Both are provided with a flat floor for improved comfort, an adjustable steering wheel and a digital dashboard with vital tractor information and controls over the working modes.
