A joint development between Goldoni Keestrack and Swiss hillside tractor specialists Rigitrac, both of which have a long history of battery-powered equipment, the B1e/SKE 40 is designed for multiple sectors, including specialist glasshouse and open field operations.
A key consideration has been the autonomy of the unit. To combat this, five independent electric motors are mounted within the machine. The largest of these is dedicated to traction, producing a continuous 40kW and peaking at 50kW.
Two motors power the front and rear PTOs, rated at 14kW and 9.5kW respectively, while a 15kW unit handles the rear lift. Finally, a smaller, 4.5kW motor is fitted for the heat pump.
The transmission is split into two driving strategies. In work mode, the tractor is limited to 23kph, with increased pedal sensitivity for fine speed adjustments, a high starting torque and cruise control.
In transport mode, the top speed increases to 40kph with hill start assist, fast acceleration and brake energy recovery to minimise battery drain. The tractor is also fitted with an engine brake to limit wear on the braking system.
At the rear, the three-point linkage can lift 1,550kg, with three electronic spool valves supplying up to 40 litres/min. The front linkage can lift 800kg and is mounted alongside two additional spools. The cabin offers a flat floor, a pneumatic seat and silent block suspension, with a noise level of just 52dBA.
