The 2025 edition of Tractor of the Year kicked off in a lavish event in Milan last week, with 17 brands showcasing 21 tractors to the jury members.
For this year’s event, Tractor of the Year underwent a series of changes, with new categories being added to the competition.
Open Field has now been split into the TotY HighPower and MidPower categories, with the Utility and Specialized categories remaining in place.
Sustainable TotY will continue to look at the most environmentally friendly machines, evaluating emissions and onboard technology that boosts accuracy, reduces inputs and keeps fuel consumption to a minimum. The five finalists for this will be chosen from the other categories.

“I’m extremely satisfied with the high level of tractors competing for the TotY Awards 2025. Every year tractor manufacturers surpass themselves, offering increasingly innovative, efficient and sustainable machines. This year is no exception, with a range of tractors representing the best of modern agricultural technology. Our jury will have a challenging task selecting the winners, given the exceptional calibre of the participants,” says Fabio Zammaretti, chairman of Tractor of the Year.
“TotY’s distinguishing marks are perfectly in line with BKT’s constant pursuit of innovation and superior performance, which is reflected in our specially designed and engineered tyres. We take this competition to our hearts as it puts us in direct contact with OEMs, their needs and the future of agricultural mechanization. This is what drives us to continue our commitment to innovation by offering reliable tyres that enhance equipment performance in different conditions and specific applications,” adds Lucia Salmaso, managing director of BKT Europe, sponsors of the competition.
