The P3-Drive transmission is a new development from Argo Tractors, bringing the technology and automation seen in the larger P6-Drive down to its utility range. It offers 36+12 gears, or 48+16 with a creeper, with fully robotised shifting of the 12 speeds in each range and clutchless braking.
Power comes from a new FPT engine, maxing out at 114hp and producing 460Nm of torque. A triple pump, open centre hydraulic system offers 82 litres per minute, with an additional 32 litres available for steering. This feeds a possible four rear spools (three mechanical and one electrohydraulic) and a further two mechanical mid-mounts. The rear linkage can lift up to 4,500kg, with the option of a 2,200kg capacity front system. The X5 can also be specified with the M20 front loader, with 1,700kg of lift and a dedicated joystick in the cabin.
Argo’s Advanced Driving System is available as an option, including EazySteer which reduces the number of turns lock to lock. There is also a full suite of precision farming systems.
