Tractor of the Year 2024 – Best of Specialized: Fendt e107 V

For operations in vineyards, orchards, greenhouses and urban areas, Fendt has announced the battery-powered e107 V, featuring the company’s proven Vario gearbox and the FendtONE operating system.

The 100kWh battery produces 90hp and can propel the tractor to up to 40kph. Fendt states that the machine will run for between four and seven hours, depending on the operation, and can charge from 20% to 80% in just 45 minutes.

A range extender is already in development but this initial model features a foot switch that will enable the tractor to regenerate and recycle power.

It has three operating modes – Eco, Dynamic and Dynamic+ – with Eco mode suitable for lower power applications. Dynamic is for more intensive work, while the + function is used to make extra power available for a limited period.

The e107 V is compatible with all existing Fendt implements and comes equipped with a front and rear PTO system, as well as three attachment spaces and up to six hydraulic spools in the centre, and four at the rear.

Its dimensions are compact, at just 1.07m wide and 2.45m high. The four-post cabin is said to give plenty of headroom, with a large door to offer easy access. As there is no exhaust pipe, visibility is improved.

Various technologies have been moved across from the diesel range, including the FendtONE system with a multi-function joystick, a 10-inch digital dashboard and a 12-inch terminal. As an option, the 3L joystick is also available.

Fendt guidance systems, automatic section control and variable rate are available, and for the first time, all machines in the series will be connected to the Fendt telemetry system.

The e107 Vario is equipped with specially designed Trelleborg tyres, with a new design to reduce the rolling resistance.

Fendt states that the order book will open at Agritechnica, with the first machines leaving the Marktoberdorf factory in Q4 2024.
