Following the success of the 5m trailed Aerosem VT, Pöttinger has announced a 6m variant. The Aerosem VT 6000 DD features high-volume, 800mm packer tyres to reduce ground pressure and rolling resistance, as well as consolidate the seed rows.
There has also been a significant increase in capacity over the 5m model. The 6000 DD can hold up to 4,600 litres, compared to 2,800 litres on the 5m machine, which can be divided 50:50 to apply both seed and fertiliser. The hopper is split in the direction of travel, improving access to the metering units.
The hopper is pressurised to ensure high application rates and each side features its own metering system, both of which feed into the same single shoot seed line. Metering is controlled independently and can be varied using separate application maps.
Pöttinger’s proven Dual Disc double disc coulter system features offset discs to form a clean and tidy seed slot. The coulter arms are the same length and are mounted on sealed bearings to maintain reliability even in high trash conditions. Coulter pressure can be adjusted up to 60kg, while the V-shaped slot stops the seed from rolling.
