A new 8m model of the Cirrus Grand trailed cultivator drill has been announced by Amazone, with a three-chamber hopper for simultaneous metering of different products.
The Cirrus 8004-2C Grand requires 280hp up front, with a total hopper capacity of 5,900 litres. It’s possible to use the three chambers as one to carry a large amount of seed, or to split the hopper into 40:50:10 for the application of up to three products using the Single Shoot process.
It uses a large distributor head with Smart plus equipment to ensure lateral distribution of products. This includes individual row shutoff and tramline control, all controlled through the Isobus terminal.
As well as the standard 16.6cm row spacing, a narrow option of 12.5cm is available.
AutoPoint automatic measuring has been integrated into the machine to determine conveying times from the metering unit to the coulter. Using this data, it automatically adjusts switch-on and switch-off points on the headland to minimise misses and overlaps.
As well as the T-Pack front tyre packer, operators can choose a crushboard with guide wheels to work on heavy or cloddy soils. Additional guide wheels ahead of the disc elements can be optioned when no front tool is used.
It requires around 120 litres/min to operate. For tractors with a low hydraulic output, an optional PTO-driven system is available, while an air pre-heater can also be fitted to reduce the formation of condensation and prevent seed dressing or fertiliser dust from sticking to the conveyor.
The new updates will also be available as options on the 9m Cirrus 9004-2C Grand.
