Doosan Infracore Europe has launched a ‘transparent bucket’ system for its range of wheeled loaders, a first in the industry according to the company. It allows operators to see through the blind spots caused by the bucket using the in-cab terminal by utilising top and bottom mounted cameras, the images from which are combined using a curved projection method.
Due to the blind spots caused by front attachments, such as buckets, the area in front of a machine has been considered a major concern in terms of safety. With the new system, the driver can easily check ahead of the machine with the in-cab monitor. Additionally, it may help improve efficiency by providing a clear forward view during loading and unloading or when carrying material.
The ‘transparent bucket’ system joins a host of technologies Doosan has developed, including ultrasonic warning systems. A spokesperson from the company commented: “As machinery and site safety standards continue to be significantly raised around the world, advanced safety systems have become a key factor in selecting equipment. We plan to continue developing safety features that can protect drivers and other workers on site, and we aim to be at the forefront in creating construction sites that are safer and accident-free.”
