The EIMA International trade fair in Bologna saw the introduction of a new Lemken Diamant 18 plough; revamping the range that was launched six years ago.
It is available with between five and eight furrows, mounted to a 180x180x12.5mm box section frame. Specifically designed for large tractors, it is suitable for machines up to 650hp.
According to the company, it performs well on dry soils, not only due to the increased weight, which improves penetration, but also the updated wheel position. The support wheel has been moved behind the base frame to make the best use of the additional weight.
This also provides a lower centre of gravity, reducing the impact of rotational forces and placing less strain on the rear lift.
Despite the larger wheelbase, Lemken states that the plough still offers a high level of agility. The hydraulic steering of the transport wheel adapts to the turning manoeuvre, which combines with the 90deg movement of the headstock.
The transport wheel can also be actively controlled, or manually steered.
The Diamant 18 will be available in small numbers next year, with full production starting in 2026. For more information go to www.lemken.com
