The trailed, two-row Spirit 9200i potato harvester from AVR is said to be a major upgrade to the previous Spirit 9200 model with improvements to flexibility, capacity, and user comfort.
It coincides with AVR’s 175th anniversary, celebrating a legacy of agricultural machinery innovation.
Key updates include full ISOBUS compatibility, with the choice of a Müller Touch800 or Smart570 display. As standard, an ergonomic AVR-designed joystick is also included, and functions can be mapped to any ISOBUS compatible tractor joystick.
Up to four sieving webs can be specified, with either two short digging webs or one long digging web at the front of the machine to suit soil types. Customers can also opt for a soft sieving web mounted directly in front of the pintle belt module, or a cross-roller module with in-cab adjustment for additional cleaning capacity.
According to the company, the drop height from the digging web to the sieving web is the lowest on the market, with a 33% margin on the closest competitor.
Haulm separation is handled primarily through a combination of a sieving web and the haulm web, with two sets of individually adjustable retainers to ensure the potatoes stay in the machine. In difficult conditions where haulm levels are building up, the frames of the retainers can be folded upwards.
A third set of three retainer rows can be mounted at the top of the machine and any potatoes that are accidently discharged with the haulm can be returned to the machine.
At the rear of the machine, the incline of the pintle belt module is fully adjustable, providing full control over product flow when working on slopes or in a flat field.
The 8t bunker features an unloading arm that can be adjusted up to 4.2m, with options for a hydraulic, collapsable shock absorber or a crate-filling funnel. AVR also offers the Clean & Go bunker, with additional sieving capacity and on-the-move unloading.
When working in difficult conditions, a new hydrostatic wheel drive is available. This drives a 2,815cc wheel motor on the right side, and a 1,745cc motor on the left. This provides the rear axle with the equivalent of 120hp and is controlled with an additional keypad.
