Ahead of Lamma, KRM has announced a new model of fertiliser spreader, as well as several upgrades to the existing range.
The L15W brings weigh cell technology down to the specialist market, using the same parallel frame weighing system as all other machines in the range, said to ensure correct loading of the cell regardless of the angle of the machine. The system is fully automatic and self-calibrates on the move, constantly adapting to the flow characteristics of the fertiliser.
In addition to this, it can be fitted with GPS control for variable rate application, automatic on and off, and section control. At the point of purchase, it can be fitted with a Totz control box or as an ISOBUS machine, ready to connect to the tractor terminal.
Two hopper widths are available to make it suitable for specialist situations, including vineyards and orchards. At 1.25m, the hopper has a capacity of 500 litres, while the 2.1m version can hold 1,600 litres of product. Prices start from £17,500.
New headland management solution for wider widths
A new head management system has also been made available. Dynamic Headland Spreading allows the operator to switch between normal operation and headland spreading during work, as well as inputting whether the field boundary is on the left or right.
It’s available on machines offering a spread width from 27m up to 42m and uses technology from the Section Control Dynamic option. Notably, the system maintains the same rotation direction as during standard work, maintaining the same overlap.
ISOBUS developments
Bogballe, which develops the spreaders sold by KRM, has worked to redevelop its ISOBUS user interface to make it more user-friendly. Instead of leading the user through menu structures, the system will now allow operators to select and edit essential functions directly from the home screen.
This new system is available as a free software download for ISOBUS users, operating a Gen II spreader from 2018 onwards.
