The Tillage Live event will represent the first time that KRM Ltd will demonstrate its new powered Strip Till Cultivator, which reportedly leaves up to 70% of the field untouched to retain soil structure and reduce fuel and component wear.
It’s available in two models; the 3000/750/4 offers four rows spaced at 750mm, while the 3000/500/6 has six rows at 500mm. Both units feature a leading tine to break the soil surface, followed by driven rotavator blades which create a tilth to a depth of between 15cm and 25cm.
At the rear, a segmented roller consolidates the cultivated strips. It’s possible for solid or liquid fertiliser to be applied at the same time, and, as an option, a rear linkage can be added to mount a following drill or planter, creating a one-pass system.
The four-row machine has a starting price of £42,080.
