More than 70 vintage tractors to go on sale in Lincolnshire

Cheffins will auction off a series of vintage and classic tractors, amassed by Lincolnshire farmer John Simpson, on the 17th of June at North Willingham, near Market Rasen.

The late Mr Simpson collected the machines over a period of years, and the company states that there is the potential for a sale turnover of around £250,000.

Highlights of the 415 lots include a 1947 Field Marshall Series, with an estimate of £8,000; three Massey Ferguson models (a 135, 130 and 25); a Caterpillar D4, expected to sell for £3,000, and a series of Fordson, International, John Deere, Allis Chalmers, Case, Minneapolis Moline and Nuffield machines.

Oliver Godfrey, head of machinery at Cheffins, said: “John Simpson was a well-known member of the heritage tractor community and has amassed a comprehensive collection of beautifully maintained vintage and classic tractors. There are a number of highlight tractors going under the hammer, and we expect these to draw interest from both the UK and abroad. As a local farmer and a known vintage tractor specialist, John Simpson’s collection is also bound to draw interest from local Lincolnshire collectors.”

The sale will take place on Saturday the 17th of June, with viewing available on the 16th of June only. For more information go to www.cheffins.co.uk
