Lincolnshire’s biggest annual event, the Lincolnshire Show, will make its return this June, hosted and organised by the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society (LAS).
Now in its 138th year, the ‘Big Show’ will take place at the Lincolnshire Showground on the 21st and 22nd of June, and is set to welcome more than 60,000 visitors across the two days.
This year’s event will see the addition of new zones and entertainment in the Main Ring, as well as a range of favourite exhibitors and live demonstrations, with further details set to the announced.
It will also include competitions, local produce in the Food Court and blooms, local art and handmade crafts in the Lincolnshire Lifestyle Marquee.
Andrew Buckley, chairman of Lincolnshire Agricultural Society said: “We can’t wait to welcome visitors back to the Lincolnshire Show this year. We really want to encourage families, young people and individuals to come in and join in the fun.
“We offer an amazing array of exhibitors, live demonstrations and interactive displays that are loved by all.”
The event coincides with the appointment of a new LAS president, HM Lord-Lieutenant, Toby Dennis.
Mr Buckley continued: “A big welcome also to the new LAS president, HM Lord-Lieutenant, Toby Dennis. It’s great to have him on board for what is set to be another fantastic show.
“We are a great charity which aims to educate young people, families and individuals about food, farming and the countryside. All profits are used to fund educational work, supporting local children from around Lincolnshire.”
Favourites returning
The event will also have many features returning, including the Schools’ Challenge, where local schools will showcase their entries. With ten challenges to choose from, it aims to inspire young people to gain a better understanding of the county’s agricultural, horticultural and land-based history.
Also returning is The Lincolnshire Kitchen, where top chefs will cook with local produce. Immersive livestock and equine classes will take place across both days, while the Agricultural Line will showcase machinery both past and present.
Mr Buckley said: “This year is set to be our best and busiest yet, and we’re excited to welcome visitors once again. We have such a rich and diverse history of agriculture in Lincolnshire, and The Lincolnshire Show is always a fantastic opportunity to celebrate that.
“This year, we’ve worked hard to make it a show to remember, with some long-standing classics such as the Aviation Zone, but also a few new surprises too – watch this space for further exciting announcements.”
