Scotland’s largest event, the Royal Highland Show, is calling for new exhibitors to apply for a stand at its 2023 show which takes place from June 22 to 25 at the Ingliston showground, Edinburgh.
Celebrating the best of Scottish food, farming and rural life, the show is Scotland’s largest outdoor event and, this year, up to 210,000 visitors are expected to attend. Offering networking opportunities across the rural sector, the 2023 show will see new and returning programmes, including a new buyers event allowing food, drink and homeware businesses showcase their products. Also new this year will be the Golden Shears World Sheep Shearing and Woolhandling Championship which attracts competitors from over 30 countries.
The 2022 event saw over 800 businesses showcasing their offerings and selling everything from machinery and clothing to vehicles and food and drink. Traders in the food and drink and lifestyle industries are being particularly encouraged to apply this year.
Reports evidence that the Royal Highland Show contributes £39.5 million to Edinburgh’s economy.
Royal Horticultural and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS) chairman, Jim Warnock, said: “Our traders are a key factor in making the Royal Highland Show what it is – an iconic event showcasing the very best of Scotland’s food, farming and rural life. With an average spend of around £150 per visitor, the retail opportunities for businesses are significant, not to mention the potential for networking with other traders and suppliers.”
Applications are now open and can be made on the Royal Highland Show website and queries can be sent to tradestands@rhass.org.uk.
