SMS CZ s.r.o.is presenting a host of new products at SIMA, including the latest Ontario disc cultivator which was launched earlier this year.
“The visible innovation of the Ontario 500 and 600 is that it has an integrated axle between the front two rows of discs and the rear cylinder. The resulting machine is shorter and with better manoeuvrability. By placing the axle in the middle of the machine, the cultivator is also more efficiently loaded, which in turn has a positive impact on even tillage,” said Petr Jirsa, managing director.
These changes bring the centre of gravity closer to the drawbar, preventing the machine from swaying at higher working speeds and ensuring an even working depth down to 12cm. A large amount of free space between the disc section and the rollers also helps to minimise clogging.
It features a hydraulically folding, two-part frame, with two rows of 510mm or 560mm discs depending on the specification. Discs are mounted on maintenance-free bearings and strength skids, elastically secured by rubber silent blocks.
Wide support wheels make the machine suitable for soft or waterlogged ground, and the basic equipment includes a braked axle, lights and side deflectors. The minimum horsepower for the Ontario is around 200hp.
Other machines at the fair
The new generation of the Ontario, specifically the Ontario 300, are being presented alongside three other machines; the Atos 300 radial cultivator, the Smart 300 multi-purpose drill and the Teran 300 N roller.
“At the fair, we want to approach and establish cooperation with French agricultural equipment dealers and thus strengthen our business network in the country. We see SIMA as an excellent opportunity to introduce the brand and the company,” said Mr Jirsa.
30th anniversary
on the 1st of January, SMS will celebrate 30 years of manufacturing and the anniversary celebrations have started at the SIMA show with a new logo.
“The aim was to modernise the existing visual identity to match current trends and marketing needs, but also to reflect better who we are. Specifically, we develop and manufacture agricultural machinery and incinerators. I personally like the new concept. We’ve managed to incorporate a statement of movement and dynamics, emphasising the fact that we are always focusing on development and innovation and looking ahead,” said Mr Jirsa.
This new identity will be widely shared over the coming months, being integrated into press materials, at trade fairs and on new machines.
“We are also thinking of farmers and are preparing the launch of the new Finisher for them next spring as a gift to mark our anniversary. We will reveal more about the machine when the time is right,” concluded Mr Jirsa.
