Designed specifically for the 400hp tractor class, Amazone has introduced the Tyrok 400, a semi-mounted reversible plough available with seven, eight or nine furrows.
Its main features are said to be higher output, even when under continuous load, high quality of work and increased robustness. At the same time, Amazone offers the Tyrok with simple, safe adjustment to increase operator comfort.
A new plough body has been developed, dubbed the SpeedBlade, with a patented extra-large front shin to minimise wear on the main mouldboard. This shifts the main wear point further back to the centre of the plough body and is stated to increase the working speed from 6kph to up to 10kph. As the plough wears, this means that only the shin has to be replaced initially, reducing the total cost of ownership.
Another detail is that the point covers the blade, meaning that the join is protected and reducing the risk of plant residue or bale twine becoming entangled. The open frog stops soil from sticking to the underside to ease the pull of the plough.
Further reducing wear is the use of the ©plus hardening process, which introduces carbon to the manufacturing process to improve the hardness of wearing parts and produce a smooth surface on the front of the shin. The reverse side remains relatively soft to improve impact resistance.
There is also a wide furrow clearance, especially helpful with the increased use of wide tractor tyres.
The SpeedBlade is available in slatted and solid mouldboard designs to suit the application and the overall design and manufacturing process is said to reduce the pulling power required. There is also the option of Heavy Duty points, or reversible points to suit requirements.
No compromises
At the centre of the Tyrok is a high-tensile steel rectangular beam with dimensions of 200mm x 150mm x 10mm, said to be able to withstand high loads and ensure a uniform working depth across the entire length and width of the machine.
It also features the new SmartTurn system. At the headland, the fast turning procedure is hydraulically slowed down twice just before the end which dampens the process and reduces stress on the components. Despite this, the turning process is said to take just nine seconds.
There is also the option of hydraulic overload safety protection when working in difficult conditions. This provides a trip force of each individual plough body of up to 2,000kg, which can be infinitely adjusted. This trigger force automatically decreases as the lift height is increased and the plough body is gently pushed back into work via a hydraulic cylinder.
Mechanical furrow width adjustment is standard, with the option of hydraulic adjustment from the cab. A new feature is the AutoAdapt automatic front furrow adjustment on models with variable furrow width, which hydraulically adjusts the front furrow when the working width is changed. This means operators can easily adjust the whole plough based on soil conditions or when working on slopes.
Working depth can be mechanically or hydraulically adjusted via the damped running gear which absorbs shock loads. A substantial support wheel ensures precise depth control and provides soil compaction protection, and also features hydro-pneumatic suspension for driving comfort and safety on the road.
The pull line can be adjusted via the 180-degree rotating headstock. Minimising side pull can result in potential savings in power requirements and fuel consumption. The headstock also offers flexibility with various coupling options. There is also an option of traction control, while a hydraulic cylinder can transfer weight to the rear axle of the tractor to maximise pulling power.
All hydraulic functions can also be adjusted via the SmartCenter system at the front of the headstock.
Completely equipped
The Tyrok can be equipped with optional soil engaging tools. These include various skimmers or trash boards for improved incorporation of organic matter. Landside protectors can also be attached to shares to ensure better guidance on slopes.
An optional sword landside protects the edges of the front shin of the mouldboard from wear and cuts a clean furrow wall. Disc coulters are also available for fitment on the last body. Finally, the Tyrok 400 can be fitted with a swivel press arm for working with a packer.
