Haix, the specialist manufacturer of safety footwear, has refreshed the look of its top-selling Airpower XR26 boots.
Now available in black, the boots feature an ultralight protective thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) toecap made of a fibre-reinforced composite that reportedly exceeds safety-testing standards. The XR26 has undergone more than a hundred material and quality assurance tests, designed to replicate the day-to-day challenges of its wearers.
The Haix Climate System uses the pumping motion of each step to circulate cool air into the boot via vent holes in the top. The anatomically formed footbed is said to absorb moisture and dry quickly.
A waterproof Gore-Tex Performance inner liner works with the abrasion-resistant lining to ensure durability, while also providing added insulation to protect the wearer when the temperature drops. Also included in the construction is 2.2mm thick waterproof and hydrophobic leather, which also incorporates sun reflective technology, and the built-in Arch Support System to keep the foot’s curvature supported. Interior cushioning ensures toes and joints have sufficient space, relieving pressure points and preventing feet from becoming sore, according to the company.
The non-marking outer sole is resistant to heat, oil and gasoline and the boot has a flexible and lightweight steel puncture-resistant midsole for enhanced safety. The sole provides grip and impact absorption, as well as correct toe-to-heel movement.
To suit the individual anatomy of each user, the Haix Vario Wide Fit System allows each size of the XR26 to be adjusted with three different insoles.
“For some, protective footwear is not an option but a necessity. Twisted ankles, foot or toe injuries and sole penetration from sharp objects are just a few of the hazards faced by those in the agriculture and landscaping industries. We develop our boots with a quality of workmanship that can keep up with the demands of the job,” said Simon Ash, HAIX® UK sales manager. “Workers need to know they can rely on the highest levels of comfort, support and protection, and the high-quality materials and manufacturing processes used to develop the Airpower XR26 have produced a boot they can count on year-round.”
