Beef and sheep producers are invited to a series of open meetings across the country to find out how AHDB Beef & Lamb is ensuring the industry is fit for the future.
At the meetings in the New Year, there will be presentations from the organisation’s trade experts on activity to maintain and develop enhanced export markets during the transition to a new trading environment.
There will also be an overview of AHDB’s planned promotional activity for 2018. This will include initial plans for a €10 million campaign to boost lamb consumption, a joint venture between France, England and Ireland, as well as an update on work to communicate the health benefits of red meat.
At the events, Strategy Director Laura Ryan will share an update on the current activity which is being carried out as part of the organisation’s three-year ‘Inspiring Success’ strategy.
Laura said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming levy payers to these open meetings, which are tailored especially for beef and lamb producers.
“Ahead of the changes which may come with Brexit, we want to make sure our work is helping prepare and improve the productivity of their businesses, no matter what may be to come. These events will be a great opportunity to update producers on the work that is being carried out and to listen to their valuable feedback on our current activity.”
The events will take place between Monday 29 January and Thursday 1 February and will be held in the following locations:
- Kegworth Hotel & Conference Centre, Derby, 29 January
- Silvermere Golf Club, Surrey, 30 January
- Sedgemoor Auction Centre, Somerset, 31 January
- J36 Rural Auction Centre, Cumbria, 1 February
