Norbrook Laboratories Ltd. is sending experts to give talks at the London Vet Show (LVS), as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to the development of the veterinary profession.
Speaking of the initiative, Edward Haughey, Director of Norbrook GB, said:
“Norbrook is a long-standing supporter of the veterinary profession through our relations with organisations like the British Veterinary Association (BVA) and the North of Ireland Veterinary Association (NIVA). As an industry leader, we are fully committed to helping vets ensure effective, excellent and easy-to-manage animal health.”
The LVS will take place on 20-21 November 2014 and is expected to gather almost 4,000 delegates. Over the two days, Norbrook will host the following sessions:
1. Equine gastric ulceration – today’s approach
Speaker: Josh Slater
20 November at 12:45-13:45 in the BVNA Equine Theatre
Gastroduodenal ulceration is common in all types of horse and awareness of this syndrome is high amongst horse owners. The wide spectrum of clinical signs associated with this syndrome can result in presumptive diagnosis on the part of owners and create diagnostic challenges for practitioners. Equally, valid diagnoses may be missed because of the syndrome’s frequently non-specific clinical presentation. This presentation will review the pathogenesis of this syndrome and the evidence base for different presentations and clinical significance. A guide to diagnosis, including optimising referral decisions for gastroscopy, and the latest data on treatment and prevention regimes will be presented at this session.
2. Advances in pain management
Speaker: Kate L White MA Vet MB DVA Dipl ECVAA MRCVS
21 November at 13:30-14:30 in The London Room
This session will be useful for practitioners and nurses wanting an update about the latest advances in pain management of companion species. There will be tips and guidance on improving acute and chronic pain management in a range of small and large animals. The lecture will include case studies and many useful resources to optimise pain management in companion animal practice.
Norbrook is a main sponsor of the LVS and will be exhibiting its broad portfolio of finished product at stand I20. Among the highlights this year are our new products Cefimam LC, Noroclav chewables, Noropraz, Peptizole and Spotinor.
