The Vervaet Hydro Trike self-propelled slurry applicator is celebrating 35 years on the market this year, and to mark this occasion 2025 machines will be supplied with commemorative decals and an updated livery.
Vervaet developed the machine in response to sudden demand, following Dutch legislation which made it mandatory to inject slurry. It was tested extensively throughout 1990 before going into full production a year later.
It has been constantly developed since then, with three-wheel and five-wheel models available, offering tank capacities from 16cu m up to 20cu m, with options to fit solid manure bodies.
Parts from the very first models are kept in stock, meaning that older machines can be maintained, with some older Hydro Trikes still working with more than 30,000 hours on the clock.
Sales in the UK have reportedly increased dramatically, despite it being too advanced when it was first launched. Importer J Riley Beet Harvesters has built up a loyal customer base thanks to a pool of new and quality used machines to suit workloads and budgets.
Demand from the UK led to the development of the Quad, a four-wheeled machine with a 550hp engine and capacities of 22cu m and 40cu m. New machines for 2025 are fitted with the latest Claas X11 cab, as introduced recently on the Vervaet Q-616 beet harvester.
