AGCO and SDF have announced a new partnership, said to offer growers a streamlined low to mid-horsepower tractor portfolio for the Massey Ferguson brand.
The deal, which comes into force in mid-2025, will see SDF manufacture proprietary tractors up to 85hp for most global markets. These machines will be built at the SDF facilities in Turkey and India.
Farm Contractor learned of this agreement several days ago and understands that the markets affected will be Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Turkey, Africa and Mexico.
Now in an official statement, Luis Felli, senior vice president and general manager, Massey Ferguson, says: “AGCO and Massey Ferguson’s Farmer-First approach is centered on creating a consistently exceptional experience for our farmers.
“We are extremely proud to have a partner like SDF who shares our passion for serving the world’s farmers. This partnership will strengthen Massey Ferguson’s position in the low-mid horsepower tractor segment globally, allowing us to provide more farmers with straightforward, dependable and high-quality equipment to drive their productivity and maximize profit.”
The new product range will be offered with various transmission options to match customer needs. AGCO expects this partnership to boost Massey Ferguson’s market share in the sub-85hp sector.
“We are pleased to have reached this agreement, which highlights the efficiency of SDF’s vertically integrated production system in all our facilities,” commented Alessandro Maritano, SDF chief commercial officer.
“This confirms the value of our in-house expertise and know-how in designing and manufacturing proprietary core components, ensuring excellence and innovation worldwide.”
Both companies have ambitious targets for the partnership, including increasing customer satisfaction across the affected regions and profitable growth.
