After winning a gold award in the Arable Establishment Innovation category at Lamma, Kuhn showcased its Smart Soil Technology (STS) with Isobus connectivity on the Optimer 6000 and 7500 stubble cultivators.
The development enables cultivator settings to be managed from the cabin, with automatic adjustment to maintain the working depth and tracking on slopes.
The system features Steady Control Exclusive, which uses a combination of pressure and position sensors to adjust the disc depth to changing topography and soil types.
According to the company, this not only ensures consistent soil mixing but can also reduce fuel consumption by preventing deep or uneven work.
Auto-Line functionality uses live data to centre the implement behind the tractor, this keeps passes straight when working on slopes and minimises overlap.
STS also automates functions on the headland, raising and lowering the Optimer automatically, with the operator choosing whether to turn on the rear roller or the transport wheels.
