Just 948 agricultural tractors were registered in July 2024, down 13.6% when compared to the same month last year.
The figures, from the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA) also indicate that the market is 18% below the five-year average for the month.
It brings the total for the year to 6,830 units, 13.3% lower than the same period in 2023 and 10% below the five-year average.
The AEA notes that the continued difficult financial situation for farm businesses, and the adverse weather over the last 12 months are key reasons for the poor registrations so far this year.
