The new SilotitePro1800 Sustane range of bale film is developed with 25% post-consumer recycled plastic, according to Silotite.
By using recycled content, Berry Global, Silotite’s parent company, states that it is diverting waste from landfill and incineration, and that the use of this new product reduces the environmental load by 24% when compared to standard Silotite film.
As well as boosting the company’s environmental credentials, it claims that the new range offers a long reel length than the original 1,500mm film, enabling customers to wrap more bales per roll.
SilotitePro1800 Sustane has also been certified by RecyClass, giving users full traceability of the recycled content. It arrives on farm in a polyethylene sleeve, which also means that the packaged can be recycled with the film – eliminating the need for separation.
“We are proud to continue offering customers a range of films that meet high-performance standards across quality, functionality, user experience, innovation, and sustainability. The introduction of SilotitePro1800 Sustane film, alongside the other initiatives in our five-pillar sustainability programme, achieve these aims,” said Bart Geeraert, commercial director of Berry Global’s European Agricultural Films business.
