Chris Harrold has been appointed as product manager for the YaraVita biostimulant range for the UK and Ireland. He joins Yara UK with ten years of experience as an agronomist and will be responsible for the commercial and technical promotion of the product.
He joins the company as the biostimulant market continues to develop, as growers look for ways to improve nutrient use efficiency and soil health, as well as help crops deal with abiotic stresses. Chris will liaise and work with distributors, independent agronomists and growers as part of the role.

“Growers face challenges on multiple fronts,” he said. “Having to adapt to a changing climate, producing food sustainably, and complying with a growing amount of legislation.”
He added that the continued product development will help customers tackle these issues and move into the next phase of production.
“Farmers seem to be getting hit from many angles, not just financially and with the climate, but from regulation as well, and Yara as a company recognises that,” Chris explained.
“What we are developing, not only the biostimulants, but also our green fertiliser products and our organomineral fertilisers, reflects our recognition that we need to develop newer technology and solutions to help our customers move into the next phase of production.
“There are a lot of exciting things going on within the company that will become more apparent to growers over the next year or two, and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.”
