Registrations of tractors over 50hp were 10.4% higher in December than during the same month in 2022, according to the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA).
However, at 693 machines, this was below the five-year average for this time of year.
It brought the total number of machines registered in 2023 up to 11,816, an increase year-on-year of 2% and slightly above the recent average.
The AEA notes that except 2020, which was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the UK tractor market has been stable in recent years with annual registrations falling between 11,580 and 12,040 in six of the last seven years.
